The Ministry of Transport honors the major stakeholders of Mimaroba

Tourism is definitely back on track as the Ministry of Tourism – Mimaroba recently honored stakeholders in the area at its annual Appreciation Day, its first full physical award in the past three years, with a “Winner Takes All” theme to celebrate the resilience of tourism players and their quest for excellence even during a pandemic. Internationally, the Apo Reef Nature Park in Sabalayan, Occidental Mindoro, was awarded Platinum Blue Level by Marine Conservation International at the 2022 United Nations Oceans Conference in Lisbon, Portugal. The largest contiguous reef in the country, Apo Reef has been awarded the prestigious award with the support of the provincial government headed by Governor Eduardo Gadiano. Global honorees include Roxas-based Agritektura Enterprises, Oriental Mindoro, the first ever Philippine Top 10 Hatchery Experts Under 40 from Canada-based Hatchery International, and Coron Natural Farms as Q Magazine’s Best Integrated Organic Farming Destination. Paradise in Coron came second in the 2022 Green Destination Story Awards, recognized at the prestigious ITB Berlin. Including Grand Winner for Best Program in Arts and Culture and Runner-up for Best Tourism-Oriented LGU and Anne Roxanne de Vera who was named Best Tourism Officer of the group. In Puerto Galera, their person has been honored with disability-friendly facilities, which support the Ministry of Tourism’s Barrier-Free Tourism advocacy. It also cited the Department of Health, Department of the Interior, and local government to support Department of Transportation programs, and the municipal government of San Vicente for dramatically increasing the number of accredited institutions in the past two years.
