The historic center is a jumble of medieval buildings and a tangle of narrow streets and open squares lined with outdoor cafés. Stroll through the long public square called the Alameda de Hercules and you’ll stroll through the 2,000-year-old Roman ruins in the heart of the city. But, while Seville (and Spain as a whole) is affordable, it’s easy to blow your budget on the city’s delicious food and wild nightlife. La Banda Rooftop Hostel This is a lively place and a social hostel. Every night on its rooftop, La Banda hosts family-style dinners. You can indulge in southern Spanish staples while taking in views of Seville’s famous cathedral. (There’s also a nightly happy hour in the bar beforehand.) La Banda also has an in-house cocktail bar where you can sip on local sherry, vermouth, and beer while hanging out with other travelers. There are also game nights, DJ performances, and flea market tours, making this a great place for solo travelers looking to meet new people. Hostel One Centro Hostel One may be a chain, but its hostels are always top notch. The place in Seville is clean, orderly and sociable. There are plenty of activities too, including a daily walking tour and a nightly bar crawl. And if you don’t feel like going out and/or saving money, Hostel One also offers family-style nightly brunch, complete with international dishes and Spanish fare. The beds here are basic – metal ones and the mattresses aren’t too thick – but there are curtains for privacy, so you can at least try to get a good night’s sleep. There is also a shared kitchen, so you can cook if you’re on a budget. The Nomad Hostel Located right in the center of Seville, The Nomad is a social and eco-friendly hostel with a few common rooms, making it a good choice for those who need some quiet time to get work done – digital nomads included – as well as those who want to Mixing with others in the most optimistic and active places. There is also a rooftop sundeck where the staff organizes dinners and other social events. The wooden beds are basic (no curtains and the mattress isn’t very thick), but there are outlets and reading lights for each bed, and lockers for your stuff. There is also a female only dorm and the bathrooms are always very clean as well. There is also a free dinner each night of traditional dishes, making it a good choice for travelers on a budget. The hostel also puts on a free flamenco show and has a sun terrace where you can catch glimpses of Seville’s colorful skyline. Black Swan offers comfortable bedrooms with comfortable wooden beds, each with its own reading light and earplugs (no curtains for privacy though). There are lockers under each bed as well. Oasis Backpackers Sevilla Palace Located in the center of Seville, the staff at this location always go above and beyond: They organize a huge range of activities, including paella nights, free walking tours focusing on the city’s history, flamenco shows, and bob crawls. There is a rooftop terrace for lounging and meeting people, as well as a small pool to help you beat the heat. All rooms have air conditioning (if you’re here in the summer, you’ll realize how important that is), Wi-Fi, and individual bed lights. The only downside is that the beds aren’t great – no curtains for privacy and only good mattresses. Breakfast is free, and there is also an in-house cafe that is open every day until 11pm. For those on a tight budget, For You has a large kitchen for guests to cook in. The hostel is centrally located, has family rooms for groups, and is pet-friendly. There are also female-only dormitories. All bunk beds have lights, niches and a curtain for added privacy. It has a capsule-like design with thick mattresses and built-in wardrobes. Triana Hostel This hostel is located in Triana, a working-class neighborhood about 20 minutes’ walk from Seville. The interior of the lodge features walls lined with traditional tiles, making it a beautiful place to stay. Her eyes will find a hot tub, breakfast included, and a large kitchen in case you feel like cooking. There is also a chill out deck, where you will find hammocks so you can relax. The bunk beds have privacy curtains and reading lights. The mattresses are relatively thick so you will have a comfortable sleep. The dorms also have air conditioning for when it gets too hot.
