AirSWIFT, the first Philippine airline, has launched a new route – Manila to Romblon! For a time, the only way to get to Romblon was by sea. It became easier to reach it when Romblon Airport (also known as Tejdan Airport or Tablas Airport) was opened in the municipality of Alcantara and regular flights began in the province. However, the pandemic halted its operations. The sea became, once again, the only available means of transporting commercial passengers. Fast forward to September 24, 2022: AirSWIFT made its inaugural flight! This makes traveling between Manila and Romblon faster, easier and more convenient again. No need to burn long hours on a ferry. This cuts the trip down to nearly an hour. As of this writing, here are the details: Terminal in Manila: Terminal 4 in Romblon: Tugdan Airport (Romblon Airport) in Alcantara, Tablas Island Travel time: 1 hour 15 minutes Schedule: Tuesdays and Saturdays (twice a week) At the moment AirSWIFT has an introductory promo covering flights to Romblon. If you’re traveling before the end of the year, you can get tickets at just P3,819. More information in the image below: AirSWIFT has four types of airline ticket packages: Promotion: This offers unlimited free rebooking and 7kg carry-on baggage. However, since it is a promotion, limited seats are available for this package. Basic: This allows 5 free rebooks, but no refunds and redirects. Check-in baggage is not allowed, but you have 7kg of hand luggage. Value: This allows 10kg of carry-on baggage allowance over 7kg of carry-on baggage. You can rebook 5X for free, but you can’t redirect. Premium: These have the same perks as the value package but with check-in baggage allowance of 20kg instead of only 10kg. Note: When taking advantage of the free rebooking, you should keep in mind that the rate difference may apply. AirSWIFT uses the ATR 42-600, a turboprop regional aircraft manufactured by Franco-Italian aircraft producer ATR (Avions de Transport Régional). It seats only 50 passengers, which means less fuss and stress at the airport, even during check-in and boarding.
